Cherry has enjoyed a strong season in 2008 in qualifying for her first ever Olympic Team with her runner-up performance at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, and posting two of the four fastest 100m hurdles times in the world this season from her win in Fort-de-France on May 8 in 12.47 seconds, and her time of 12.48 in winning her semifinal at the Olympic Trials on July 7. Her finest season to date was in 2006, when she was the runner-up at the USA Outdoor Championships and finished the campaign ranked #3 in the world (#2 U.S.) by Track & Field News.
